I’m concerned that as Medicare reimbursement gets worse, the number of physicians who don’t accept Medicare or severely limit the number of Medicare patients seen will continue to grow. I may be seeing this now, while trying to get an ENT appointment with my medical group. They say I am currently stuck in “triage,” so they don’t know when they’ll be able to schedule the appointment (nor how far out the actual visit will be once an appointment is scheduled). I am now wondering whether my insurance payer is a consideration in the triage process.
